With strong messages and emotional depth, Bay Area raised/ LA based artist Aya Safiya reveals her diverse and complex identity in her singing and songwriting. Her music is extremely eclectic, influenced by popular artists of the US, the British Isles, and Japan, as well as her extensive vocal and violin training in traditional Greek and other Near Eastern musical styles. Although Aya’s music “lives between the lines of genre and culture,” (Jocelle Koh, Asian Pop Weekly) and “defies standard categorization,” (Mitch Mosk, Atwood Magazine) her intimate, nostalgia evoking songwriting, ethereal singing, and hazy production with help from producer Tano Brock, distinctly conquers a vibe.
